Mueller would score two more times complete this Cup's first hattrick. Mats Hummels scored as well, giving Germany a decisive 4-0 victory. Though FIFA has these teams ranked 2 and 3 (Germany at 2), this didn't turn out to be the juggernaut contest it was advertised as. Portugal's temper got the best of them, and Germany's technical play got them the start they needed. They have made the semifinals of this tournament the last three times. That's twelve years of being a top four team. Impressive.
