90 Minutes Is Not A Sprint, But A Marathon

Soccer is a game that lasts 90 minutes. It's not the specialty of a man like Usain Bolt who works in roughly 9 second intervals. This World Cup is proving that as Croatia, Spain, Uruguay, and Japan have all come out to take the lead only to find themselves on the losing end come the final whistle. Today, you can add Ecuador to that list. It only took Enner Valencia 22 minutes to score the first goal of this game. That goal stood as the leading goal into halftime. Come the second half, and the Swiss began to unfold like their famous Army Knives. Three minutes after break Admir Mehmedi equalized for Switzerland, and the points were looking to be shared. In the final moments of the match, Ecuador had a great chance to score and win, but holding onto the ball too long allowed for a counter attack. The ball fell to Haris Seferovic who put it into the net with 30 seconds to play. Just like that, Switzerland have snatched the three points and set the pace for France.
