Five For France, and Swiss Cheese

Group Winners France and Switzerland were fighting for first in Group E. France ran over Honduras 3-0. Switzerland fought back to win 2-1 over Ecuador. France were out for blood. Or maybe just stinky Swiss cheese to go with their celebratory red wine. Fast forward to the 17th minute when Olivier Giroud would score. Not to be outdone, within a minute of that, Blaise Matuidi would score one of his own. At the 40 minute mark Mattieu Valbuena would send France up 3-0 at the half. The second half scoring would continue with Karim Benzema putting one in the net in the 67th minute. Moussa Sissoko would score a 5th in the 73rd minute, when France would decide the game was over and no longer play. Switzerland took that as an invitation to score two goals in the 81st and 87th minutes via Blerim Dzemaili and Granit Xhaka. And just like that, France would win the 73 minute game, while Switzerland would win the much shorter 17 minute game. Unfortunately, FIFA only recognizes the full 90 minutes. France have booked themselves a place in the knockout round. As for Switzerland, the still have three points and hopes of continuing on.
