From Down Under to Down and Under

Chile came out playing like they were chili. It only took 12 minutes for the fire to start. That's when Alexis Sanchez and Jorge Valdivia scored in a span of 2 minutes. And just like that Chile were pressing Netherland's hot performance. The Socceroos didn't take this lying down. They pulled together and scored a goal through Tim Cahill to pull back within one. The second half died down as neither team made a great run to score until injury time when Jean Beausejour made it 3-1 Chile. It's not all bad for Australia, as they do sit in third place in their group just ahead of Spain. It's better to be down and under than down and out.

Today's player of the day is Scriptor who scored 3 points and 1 bonus point for picking Mexico to beat Cameroon 1-0. Congratulations contestant. You have earned today's Niko Kovac smile.

With more games being played per day, it's getting harder to look like fortune tellers. Tomorrow the tournament kicks into full gear with four games to be played. The pack is slowly starting to separate, but everyone is just two points within one another. Good luck everyone.
