Italy looked good in their 2-1 victory over England. Costa Rica looked incredible in their 3-1 comeback win over Uruguay. Surely, Costa Rica would not be able to win two straight games in upset fashion. Yet, they did. Joining the trio of Costa Rican Avengers Joel Campbell, Oscar Duarte, and Marcos Urena is Bryan Ruiz. Ruiz scored the only goal of the game in the 44th minute. And just like that, the suspense of the second half revolved around our heroes and their supporting cast defending against the mighty Italians trying to protect their goal. That happened. Italy now face Uruguay in a game that could still decide who group winner is, but will definitely decide who joins Costa Rica in the knockout rounds. As for England, Mr. Ruiz has sent the Three Lions packing for home. This pride of lions will be playing for just that, pride, when they face Costa Rica in their curtain call.
