If Brazil won, they would only need a draw. If Brazil lost, they would need a win. Xherdan Shaqiri put Switzerland up in the 20th minute. Aleksandar Mitrovic would erase that lead giving Serbia a 1-1 draw. Dusan Vlahovic then made it 2-1 to Serbia, and their hearts were looking to the Round of 16. But then Breel Embolo would tie the match for Switzerland at 2-2 in the 44th minute. The second half looked to be balanced on a knife's edge. And the excitement continued as in the 48th minute Remo Freuler scored to put Switzerland up 3-2. Though both teams would battle on, that would be the last of the scoring. Brazil faces South Korea on Monday. Switzerland tackle Portugal on Tuesday.
