Ecuador came into the last match with the advantage of only needing a draw to advance in the tournament. Senegal had a chance, but they needed to win. Ismaila Sarr converted a penalty kick in the 44th minute to put Senegal ahead. Not to be outdone in the second half, Moises Caicedo evened the match at 1-1 in the 67th minute. The draw wouldn't last long as Kalidou Koulibaly would put Senegal ahead in the 70th minute for good. Ecuador can go home with heads held high as they fought hard at this tournament. Senegal move on hoping to keep their dream alive.
