4/51 through the tournament, and an emotional day it was. Match one started out with a Swiss side expected to perform well against Wales. Though they dominated the play in the first half, they failed to provide the breakthrough to give them an edge. Five minutes into the second half Breel Embolo would head in a corner kick from Xherdan Shaqiri for the lead. The Swiss would then sit back and focus on defending which gave a pressing Welsh side opportunities. One of them would be converted after Joe Morrell's cross from a corner kick would be placed off Kieffer Moore's header into goal. A messy game after that would follow as the game ended in a 1 all draw. Both teams sit behind Italy with one point apiece.

All that Matters is that Christian Ericksen is well.
The second match of the day would see Denmark dominate possession. It would come to a screeching halt when Denmark's Christian Ericksen would collapse on the field just before half-time. Emergency medical personnel ran onto the field and began to try and resuscitate him. The game was suspended and Ericksen was removed from the field and taken to a hospital. Awake and stabilized, it was a blessing that Ericksen's fate wasn't worse. After discussions with UEFA officials and both teams it was decided that the match should resume. This decision will be questionable as it was obvious that the Danes were shaken up. Finland would strike first in the 60th minute when Joel Pohjanpalo headed Jere Uronen's cross into the ground. The ball would bounce up awkwardly and hit off of Kasper Schmeichel's hands and into goal. It was a save the keeper of Schmeichel's quality would normally save. Denmark would have an opportunity to even the match when Yussuf Poulsen would be brought down in the box. Daniel Wass's shot would be too close to Lukas Hradecky's dive. Frantic and tense, Denmark would find the emotions of today too much. Their loss today leaves them third in the group as Finland sit second. Fortuitous selected Denmark as a Euro Buddy. The final match of the day saw Russia play hosts to Belgium. The two teams met twice in qualifiers for the Euros with Belgium coming out the better on each occasion. Romelu Lukaku would score the tournament's first first half goal in the tenth minute with a well placed shot. Thomas Meunier would double the lead with a shot of his own in the 34th minute. Belgium would strike a third time when Lukaku would score a second goal from Meunier's assist. Belgium sits top of the group while Russia reside in the basement.
