Attila didn't Fiola Hungary

8/17 through the Euros and the groups further down the alphabet are getting interesting. The first match of the day saw Hungary host France. Coming off their opening match with Portugal where they fought hard for 84 minutes before finally succumbing to the reigning European Champions, no one expected much as they hosted the reigning World Champions. Hungary would shock the world by scoring first through Attila Fiola at the end of the first half to lead 1-0. France wouldn’t look up for the match in the second half, but did find an equalizer in the 66th minute off of Antoine Greizmann’s goal. Hungary would further shock the world by creating chances to win the game, and preventing France from winning. France find themselves top of the group with 4 points, and Hungary sit at the bottom with 1 point. Hungary’s hopes are still alive to qualify for the knockout stage. France’s poor performance only won Colubris 10 points.

How to Score 4 goals out of 6 and Still Lose by 2

The second match of the day saw Germany coming off their loss hosting Portugal who were riding high from their victory over Hungary. Ronaldo would open the scoring in the 15th minute giving Portugal a 1-0 lead. His teammates Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro would get in on the scoring action in the 35th and 39th minutes respectively. Unfortunately they scored in their own net to give Germany a 2-1 lead. Kai Havertz would make it 3-1 for Germany in the 51st minute and Robin Gosens would make it 4-2 in the 60th minute. Portugal would score a last consolation goal in the 67th minute through Diogo Jota. Germany and Portugal both sit on 3 points in the group. Though both sit in likely positions to keep their tournament alive, Hungary have shown it won’t be easy. There very well may be drama on their last match day. Portugal’s frantic performance has won Artifex 38 points.

Spain could have Used Morata their Team

The nightcap of the day saw Spain who struggled to a scoreless draw against Sweden even when dominating the game hose Poland who fell apart in their opening loss to Slovakia. For Poland this was a must win game that started going wrong in the 25th minute when Alvaro Morata scored to give Spain a 1-0 lead. Poland would come out the second half fighting hard and finding an equalizer through Robert Lewandowski’s header in the 54th minute. Things would get nervy when in the 57th minute Jakub Moder would earn a yellow card for a foul in the box. Gerard Moreno would step up and beat Wojciech Szczeszny’s dive only to hit the post. The ball bounced back onto the field but Alvaro Morata would hit the ball into the ground and wide of the goal. Poland couldn’t find the go ahead go, but managed to hold Spain to a draw. Spain and Poland sit in the bottom two spots with 2 and 1 point respectively. Both have a chance to advance on the last day of group play.

Spain 1 1 Poland
