Welcome to the inaugural season of the TSzAL Ekstraklasa Fantasy League. There is no need to have knowledge about Poland, the Ekstraklasa League, or the players on the teams. You can make solid decisions on who to back from one week to the next with the limited knowledge you will be provided.
To start, a brief explanation of the league. Poland's premier football league is the Ekstraklasa which was first formed December 4, 1926. That's right, this December the league will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The current league format was adopted in 2021 with 18 teams competing in a total of 34 matches, one at home and one on the road for each team, over two windows. The opening window begins in late July and finishes in mid-December. There is a break for the cold, harsh, Slavic winters of Poland, before play resumes in February and ends in May.
Teams are awarded 3 points for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and no points for a loss. In the event of a tie in the standings between two teams, head-to-head points and head-to-head goal differential will determine the higher finish. Other factors are overall goal differential, overall goals scored, among others.
The top point tally wins the Championship and qualifies for the Champions League Play-off Round. The runner-up qualifies for the Champions League Second Qualifying Round. The third place team qualifies for the Europa League Second Qualifying Round. The fourth place team qualifies for the Conference League Second Qualifying Round.
The bottom 3 teams are relegated to the Polish I Liga, the second division of Polish Football. These teams are replaced by 3 teams from the I Liga. The promoted teams from last season will be identified to allow you the best opportunity to make decisions based on the level the team is at.
What does this mean for you? All you will need to do is pick 3 teams each week. The result of the team, the goals they score, and the goals they concede will be awarded to you. You cannot pick the same teams 2 weeks in a row, so be prepared to get familiar with the league. At the end of the season, the top point getter will be crowned the Ekstraklasa Champion.
Match weeks begin on Friday with 2 matches, followed by 3 matches on Saturday and Sunday each, and culminating with a Monday night match. You will be informed if there are mid-week matches for teams that could include Champions League qualifying and tournament proper, Europa League qualifying and tournament proper, Europa Conference League qualifying and tournament proper, the Puchar Polski (Polish Cup), and when a round occasionally occurs in the middle of the week. From time to time a match may be postponed for a later date. If you have already picked a team in a match that is postponed, you will have to wait for the match to be played at a future date to earn points. You cannot make another selection. This means you may find yourself temporarily behind in points due to matches in hand. This is not a bad thing, as a match in hand could be the difference you need to jump a few spots.
That being said, we will move on to some brief information about each of the teams involved. To start, below are the tables for the 2025-2026 Ekstraklasa and the 2025-2026 I liga (to inform of the teams that have been promoted).

Please look to the menu on the right for posts on the teams. The first round of matches begin this Friday, 7/24. There will be more information on where and how to enter your selections. Decisions must be completed by the day before a round begins. In most cases this will be a Thursday. You will be notified each week of the deadline.
