Spain and Portugal are more than just neighbors. When it comes to football, they are rivals. The Iberian Derby at World Cup 2026 is the 43rd meeting between the two, the first occurring in 1921. Portugal have only reached the Quarterfinals once since finishing 4th in 2006. Spain have only reached as far as the Round of 16 since winning the Championship in 2010.
